The Middle Diner was started by my grandfather and later taken over by my parents. It was in the middle of a small town just 4 miles inland from the beach. In the summer, the diner was packed with tourist and during the winter months filled with locals. My sisters and I basically grew up in that diner – eating diner food like hamburgers & french fries, hot open faced sandwiches smothered in gravy and scrambled eggs with homefries.
The diner is no longer around but my family is still part of the food industry. My sisters own the super popular ice cream shop, Yum Yums, in Sea Isle City – just a block away from the beach and my parents run a cute little cafe in one of the many popular campgrounds inland of Sea Isle City. I don’t think I will ever own any sort of eating establishment but if I did I would call it Middle Diner. This blog is sort of my fake Middle Diner — it’s the food that would be served and the stories that would be told about life, travel, family and friends — all over a good cup of coffee of course.
Welcome to the Middle Diner
